Affiliate Disclosure 2026

Kitchen Kit (kitchen-kit.co.uk) is an independent UK review site. It’s also funded by affiliate commission. This page explains exactly how that works, why it doesn’t compromise our reviews, and how you can identify affiliate links on the site.

The required Amazon disclosure

Kitchen Kit is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

What ‘affiliate commission’ actually means

When you click a ‘Buy on Amazon UK’ link on this site and go on to make a purchase on Amazon — any purchase, not necessarily the linked product, and within a 24-hour cookie window (89 days for items added to your basket) — Amazon pays Kitchen Kit a small commission. Typical commission on kitchen products is around 3% of the item price.

That commission comes out of Amazon’s margin. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going to Amazon directly. There is no surcharge, no markup, and no impact on your Prime delivery, returns, or warranty.

Why this doesn’t compromise our reviews

Affiliate commission is the business model. Editorial independence is the product. The two are kept separate by these specific policies:

  • We never accept free or ‘gifted’ products from manufacturers in exchange for reviews. Every appliance reviewed on Kitchen Kit is bought at retail with our own money.
  • We never accept payment from a brand for a positive review, a higher ranking, or favourable mention. Such offers are politely declined.
  • We never run sponsored ‘reviews’ disguised as editorial content. If we ever publish sponsored content (we don’t currently), it will be clearly and prominently labelled as ‘Sponsored’ at the top of the article.
  • Our rankings are based on test methodology, not commission rates. The cheapest pick in a round-up earns Kitchen Kit less than the priciest, and we still rank them on merit.
  • We publish negative reviews. If a product is bad, we say so, even when it’s a popular brand. Negative coverage exists across the site.
  • We disclose corrections. If we get something wrong, the post is updated and a correction note is added.

How to identify affiliate links on Kitchen Kit

Affiliate links on Kitchen Kit are clearly marked. You can spot them in three ways:

  • Buttons labelled ‘Buy on Amazon UK’, ‘Check Amazon UK price’, or ‘See latest price on Amazon’ are always affiliate links.
  • Inline product mentions linking to Amazon UK use the URL pattern amzn.to/… or amazon.co.uk/dp/…?tag=kitchenkituk-21 (the tag identifies our affiliate account).
  • Every post that contains affiliate links displays an affiliate disclosure notice at the top of the article.

Links to non-Amazon retailers (e.g. John Lewis, Currys, Lakeland) may also be affiliate links if we have an active affiliate relationship with that retailer. These will be marked the same way and disclosed at the top of the relevant post.

Other affiliate relationships

As of the date above, Kitchen Kit’s only active affiliate programme is Amazon Associates UK. We may add additional affiliate partnerships with reputable UK retailers (e.g. John Lewis, Currys, Lakeland) where the products genuinely fit our editorial scope. Any new partnership will be added to this page within 7 days of going live.

We do not participate in:

  • Generic affiliate networks that auto-monetise outbound links (e.g. Skimlinks, Viglink, Sovrn) without our explicit per-link approval.
  • ‘Pay per click’ or ‘pay per impression’ advertising networks (no Google AdSense, no display ad networks). The site is intentionally ad-free apart from affiliate links.
  • Sponsored content swaps, paid backlink schemes, or guest-post exchanges with unrelated sites.

Pricing and availability

Prices and availability shown on Kitchen Kit are accurate at the time of writing and updated periodically, but Amazon prices can change frequently. Always check the live price on Amazon before purchasing. Kitchen Kit cannot be held responsible for price changes between the time of writing and the time you make a purchase.

Where a product appears on more than one retailer (e.g. Amazon UK, John Lewis, Currys), we may compare prices. We earn commission only when you purchase via the linked retailer.

Returns, warranties, and customer service

If you have a problem with a product purchased via a Kitchen Kit affiliate link — wrong item, faulty, late delivery — please contact the retailer directly (e.g. Amazon Customer Service). Kitchen Kit is the publisher of reviews, not the seller, and cannot resolve issues with your order, returns, or warranty claims. The retailer’s standard returns and warranty policies apply.

ASA and CAP Code compliance

Kitchen Kit complies with the Advertising Standards Authority’s CAP Code on advertising, including the requirement to clearly distinguish editorial content from commercial communications. Our affiliate-link buttons and the disclosure notices at the top of every monetised post are intended to make this distinction obvious to all readers.
